I had to say it three times because it's such a fun thing to talk about and a subject near to my heart. One of the obvious advantages of being in a clan is receiving clan castle donations. It's certainly not the only benefit but is probably the most tangible and is a brilliant aspect of the game. A well positioned clan castle with the right troops can bolster your defense. In early town hall levels it is arguably your single strongest defensive building. I always love watching a defensive replay where my cc troops took the enemy by surprise and just wiped them out. Even better when the troops live to fight another day.
But honestly for me I find more joy in being able to give to my clan mates. Ever since I joined my first clan I've never tired of that privilege. As far as I can remember I've always had over a thousand donations per season in every clan I've been in regardless of my title in the clan. I wasn't doing it for a title. It was just about the joy and privilege of being able to help my teammates out in some small way. I'm not saying that to toot my own horn. I'm just saying that there is as much benefit in giving as there is in receiving. Cliche I know but it's the truth. And if you don't get all warm and fuzzy inside by helping others Supercell decided to give you gems for it. Earn 280 gems for completing the Friend in Need Achievement. Been there done that got the t-shirt. You should too.
Okay so enough talking and on to the business of the matter. Donations are such an important part of clan life that 3 of our 6 rules in our clan description are related to donations. Can anyone remember them off the top of their head? Okay you don't have to. They're listed below:
1) Default donation is archers
2) 100 donations per season to stay, 400 donations per season for elder
3) 1/2 minimum ratio between troops donated and troops received
These rules are not just for show. Poor donators will be kicked in our clan. Below are a few other dos and don'ts. And if you are uncertain about donating the wrong troop just ask the person first. If someone requests defensive or overnight troops then donate troops that can attack both ground and air (archers, wizards, dragons, etc). If you don't the troops can be lured to a corner and killed with just a handful of minions. Yes, even hogs and giants and balloons. Feel free to comment below and add your own thoughts about donations or pet peeves you may have. Any suggestions feel free to comment or msg me in game chat.
Happy Clashing,
Golgon
